Milestones of Success

I’m going to go out on a limb here, and risk possibly looking a little conceited.

They say you’re supposed to celebrate your wins, and be proud of the little moments.

So…here goes…

Today is a huge moment for us here.

Five years ago today, June 26, 2017, I registered this business with the State of Colorado as a limited liability company.

Today is our birthday.

And it’s a pretty big one, too.

50% of businesses fail after five years.

The source of that information is the Small Business Administration, so it’s probably statistically sound.

Break out the ice cream and the cake, because we’re celebrating!

We have so much to be grateful for.

Five years ago, our business was just an idea, based around an income tax amendment I was about to do for a band mate that had spent a small fortune in gear and studio time getting his first album recorded.

I can’t say his name for confidentiality reasons, but if you’re reading this brother, you know who you are. Much love, my good man – my gratitude is never-ending.

Several days later, on July 1st my wife and I opened the first business checking account for the business with $100 of our own money, plus $5 to join the credit union.

She’s always been my minority partner, but that year, and for a total of 18 months I ran the business alone while she worked a day job in the financial department of a city government.

This business has grown every year since that point up until today, and that gratitude I was talking about earlier runs over abundantly for every single tax return client, and especially for the clients that work with us year-round today.

We can not do what we do, or be who we are, without you.

Starting tomorrow, we are 50% survivors, and we are more certain than ever we will be around for the long haul.

Beating the odds feels awesome. And I want to do this for as many people as I can.

Some of our clients have been in business 5 years or more, but most of them are like us.

Growing. Scaling.

And because of their trust in us, they’re all saving more money in excess unnecessary tax than the expense of retaining us.

You heard right.

How many businesses can say they’re able to do that?

Can a doctor save you more of your own money than you spend with them, every year?

No, and the thing is, that doesn’t matter.

They provide a valuable service, and if you need a doctor, there is no compromise.

You get sick, you get help, you get better.

We have the rare privilege of not only providing a very valuable service, but actually creating enough return on investment in tax savings to more than cover the expense of working with us!

That whole gratitude thing? I am SO grateful to be able to do this for people, and for the people that do this with us.

We do this all the time, and life is good.

By the way…

We’re able to take two new clients in July.

Are you interested in finding out how to become one of them?

You can get on our calendar here: https://owingsllc.com/work-with-me/

This first call is no cost, and no obligation – just a chance to get to know each other, and see if we’re a good fit for each other.

Let’s talk, soon!

But…we hope you understand if we take the rest of the day off today.

We’re celebrating!

Woohoo!
